Its almost impossible to overfill with grease as it is only injected between the upper and lower bushes. When this chamber is full no more grease can be injected ( not using a handheld grease gun at least ). Worst case is that grease goes past the lower bushing over time, however the clearance between the damper and the tube it runs in is plenty big enough for any stray grease to simply pass over the damper as it moves down. As the damper then moves back up the lower bush will simply wipe the grease back into the lower chamber.
