Will hopefully be trying to fit td04 at the weekend.
I'm already worried how I'm supposed to put the bottom clip on the oil return hose.
Obviously from underneath but how to get to it? Long nose pliers or forceps?
I've read that turbo's can go due to other factors but unsure what to look for I.è pcv valve? I don't know what that is. Blocked breathers etc.
Car is on 91k so maybe just wear and tear.
I haven't had the car that long but I suspect the turbo was/has been leaking for a while.couldn't see under turbo heatshield and couldn't see from underneath because of underway.
I'm putting 2 and 2 together because I noticed oil everywhere when I looked through passenger front wheel and thought it was cv boot on engine side.
Gave car to mechanic to do cambelt and cv boot which it wasn't as since seen that these cars don't have inner cv boots.ha ha.
Turbo has been leaking profusely from under the v clamp and the housing exhaust side is discoloured from oil saturation if you know what I mean.
There wasn't smoke from exhaust even when it was at it's worst and boosted fine.
any advice would be for my first turbo install.

What initially made me look is because car stopped boosting and my mechanic had removed under tray so I could see all the oil coming down.

Cheers. I've removed turbo already.
The main thing is getting that sucker of a pipe back on with a clip.
And also is there any checks I can do before I put turbo back on etc.
It's a new pipe as well.

I always leave the clip in place at top of the pipe, and smear grease on the inside of the pipe and on the outside of the turbo oil return and it slides in nicely with some wiggling.

The clip and pipe is really easy.I leave the pipe and clip stuck to the turbo.Lube the inside of the pipe with oil and mount on to the metal tube.Go under the car and have a look to make sure its on properly.When the turbo and every thing else is fitted unplug the crank sensor and prime the turbo before starting to prevent damage to the turbo
