Default TMIC question

Hi i have a uk classic MY00 impreza and im looking to upgrade my intercooler. Found the intercooler below on flat 4 online and was wondering if anyone has/had one of these?
Dont really want to cut the car about to fit FMIC

http://www.flat4online.co.uk/catalog...e-impreza-9600

Im aware that some people prefer to uprate to the newer versions but bit reluctant to by a second hand item in some cases costs more than you can by new.

The intecooler also comes with the v2 hks dv, again i know theres mixed opinions on dv's but i like them so going to get one

Im going to decat, panel filter, intercooler and uprated fuel pump and remap. im keeping the td04 for now so looking for around 280bhp. Do i really need to even change the standard intercooler for this kind of power??

Any comments are welcome

Cheers
Craig

280bhp will be ok using standard top mount.

Have seen these but not sure what the actual item is like?

On a 00 car the O/E top mount performs OK to 300 bhp plus but by 320 bhp on the VF28 turbo there are compelling reasons to fit a proper front mount solution.
If you are making any changes at this point then future proof, do it right, do it once and fit a Hybrid FMIC.

I personally wouldn't bother changing the OE TMIC whilst still on the TD04. Worthwhile changing the intercooler Y pipe to Samco though.
