Bring on the noise

Bring on the noise
Yesterday I had a few hours spare whilst the girls went shopping so decided to do some fettling on the scoob. Yesterday was all about "bringing on the noise !!! " . Far too quiet on the standard rusty peashooter exhaust so went into the garage and unwrapped a few goodies.
First up was the old one
And what it looked like on
.
Managed to get a nice Blitz Nur Spec unit all delivered well wrapped up But it needed a clean so out came the tools and gave it the once over.
Looks like a dead boy when it arrived !
Some liberal metal cleaning compound, flappy sanding wheels and elbow grease
If I had more time I would have really gone to town but quite pleased with the results
Jacked up the car and onto axle stands but boy do I wish for a ramp, absolute ******* of a job trying to get the rusty bolts out with so little room. Then I found out the heat shield had come off as all the bolts had worn through so that got binned and on went the new one.
Bolts greased up for easier removal if needed and went for a blast to seal the gasket. Sorted.
A video of startup on the standard exhaust. Ignore the vapour and water, it was a cold start
And what it sounds like on the Nur Spec
It will sound a lot better when I do the centre section and down pipe
Cleaned up the centre section ready to go but not fitting it just yet as the bolts will no doubt be rusted and knackered, I have ordered some new bolts with springs ready for that job.
and clean
Both together

On my old scoob I had a Ninja II and that was loud but not too boomy but on full chat it was awesome
This was badly needed as the standard peashooter was just too quiet. I do the odd run in it to London and back so will see what it is like as it is. If after fitting the centre and down pipe and I find it too noisy (some chance ) then I could only fit a bung if needed.
Will fit and see

It's a friends old car Dan, raced him 8 or 10 times that day. I won every time.
Said goodbye to a, I think it was a 2.35L by then, Blob STI. Steve's had a alot more power than mine also, so it doesn't matter really what engine was in.

Thanks for that That video is just that . Backbox fitted into standard cat centre section and standard downpipe Apologies for the vertical video btw , I had it propped up against a brick and it was too low and awkward to do a horizontal shot but you get the idea
