The event is in aid of the Royal Navy & Royal Marines Childrens Fund http://RNRM Childrens Fund| http://w...g.uk/about-us/ with all proceeds going directly to the charity. Formed in 1902 it is one the oldest childrens charity in the UK. They support children with mental and physical disabilities, however due to operations in Afghanistan the support to families due to bereavement has risen sharply over the last few years.
As we can all see from the news, the fatalities have been heavy and the charity is committed to looking after the bereaved children and supports them up to the age of 21. Over the course of 2010/11 we assisted 1600 children at an average cost of 798 per child. Of these:
49% were suffering from a disability or mental or physical illness.
40% were due to the consequence of parental illness or death.
11% due to the impact of parental relationship problems (these are increasingly due to the parents post traumatic stress)

Hi all,
One last bump for this as time is running out for spaces in the club area due to demand. Have had great support from the South East Scoobs and of course Duncan but will have to pull the post next week if there is no real uptake for a club pitch, sorry.

What a small world eh! So you are part of the Cornish massive :-) great to have you onboard and thanks for your support to the event. Did Reg tell you about paying the track using the virgin giving page? we can claim the gift aid then. If you need the link speak to Reg or ping me on here for me DII address.
Shame there is not such a great uptake from SNet, I would have thought there would have been a lot more interest.

Baz,
I know what you mean, the line up of cars you have turning up is fantastic and worth going just to check out the big boys toys, I was going to do a few other things like japfest and the like but I prefer the look of this by far, seems to be quiet all round to be honest, I put a thread on here for a local meet down ourway and have had one reply so I have given up now, it's a shame!!
I can't wait for this, I have seen the link for vigin giving so will use that to pay for track time.
Hope to catch up with you on the day
Brian

really? £230 for a full track day at Goodwood is a steal mate, and £135 for a half day. Shame Snet didnt go for the club offer like, SES, Porsche GB Club, Club Scuderia and Wessex Ferrari Owners. £460 for two tickets for each club split between 12 cars in each club=£38 each for a track session at a great circuit.
Plus you dont have to do the track stuff mate, you can just drive and arrive, park up and donate some money to the charity for two laps around the circuit in the likes of a McLaren MP4-12C, Duncan's Time Attack Impreza or go out on a 10 mile route with the Sporting Bears
