whats keane got to do with the summer transfer thread, is he moving again?
keane had more than a fair go, torres was injured for a lot of the time before he was sold, he did sweet FA, the preston match comes to mind when he had at least 3 chances to score and he tried too hard or tried to be too clever. some players find their own level and his is clearly at spurs.
RK is renowned for being a slow starter. You can't say he had a fair chance, look how long morientes got, the amount of sitters he missed and he was always selected to play.
Kuyt got ages, Lucas has had two seasons and he's still sh1te.
Remember RK's goal against Arsenal???

Why do threads like these always turn into pointless goading matches between Liverpool and Man U supporters? Last time I looked there were 18 other Premier League clubs plus a further 72 in the Football League for the lesser teams like Burton Albion, Leeds and Newcastle Utd.
Hasn't anyone got any transfer gossip on any of these 90 other clubs? I keep clicking back to this thread for some juicy inside information and just get another repetitive post about ancient history involving Robbie Keane, Dimitar Berbatov, Rafa Benitez, Alex Ferguson et al.
Perhaps the Liverpool / Man U brigade can start their own thread, which the rest of us can ignore? So come on Scousers and Mancs (sorry, Home Counties boys! ): start your own thread of pointless baiting and leave this one to the rest of us!

...fuse lit. Now leg it.....!
As you have just proven, this thread can be posted upon by others too.
Our posting about our teams is our business. We are not preventing anyone else from posting, they just aren't posting any information or speculation.
Your moan was futile

Believe me: I'm quite aware of that!
Just wanted to get my point across and I doubt I'm the only one on here who's bored rigid by the repetitive Man U v Liverpool "chip-on-my-shoulder" kind of posts.
Each to their own, eh?
Just thought, one good thing might come out of my post: the Liverpool and Man U fans might suddenly be united in their condemnation of me! I reckon they could be singing "You'll never walk alone" on the Stretford End in solidarity by the start of the new season!

I'd hardly say this was pointless goading, I thought it was a decent debate about RK and his percieved lack of a fair go at LFC, you dont see any bickering do you ? , and whilst the transfer market is dead it keeps this thread alive.
Sorry who do you support again ?? clean forgotten

Tevez may not score a lot of goals but his running makes him worth it
granted not worth 32m but thought SAF would fight to keep him plus i thought you mancs loved the ugly bloke
Most United fans are idiots as you well know. Yes he runs but that';s about it. means nothing without real quality which he lacks. I've said it many times before. He slow, cant pass, dwells on the ball, crap touch to name but a few of his faults. He's been lucky to play in such a great team.
Someone must be in the pipeline if tevez has gone. But who?????
I hope Benzema but could see them chasing Eto'o or Fergie may look outside the top teams and bring in somebody he thinks he can develop. He really needs a good right sided player now because it's not Fletchers position and Park is rubbish.
I rate Tevez but your probably going to say "your clueless sunshine"
not sure how he would fit into the new side/look of your squad at moment as he isnt a central striker. maybe fergie will go for a straight 442 with rooney and burb upfront

Not worth £25m in my opinion, great at holding the ball up but never enough goals, then again after Berba was introduced there went the Rooney Tevez partnership which seemed to be developing, he wasn't given a proper go.
I dont know why SAF doesn't go for Klaus Van Huntelaar, probably get him for £12m, ideally I'd like Benzema or Pato, now that Torres has decided he wont be coming

I'm quite happy about it, anyone else?
He's got good energy and he's got ability.
Arbeloa is alright but in my view not good enough.
I'd still like Finnan and Riise to be the full backs though.

Yeah and I'd like Souness in midfield and Dalglish upfront. Stop living in the past Chris.
All credit to Liverpool for searching out cheap potential domestically, but does anyone really think that this youngster will make the not inconsiderable step-up from Rushden & Diamonds youth team to get selected for the senior Liverpool 1st team? Surely he would be best served learning his trade in the first teams of lower league sides? If he starts knocking in 20-odd goals per season down there, then surely he would get noticed by bigger clubs and work his way up the ladder.
It seems a shame that lower/non-league sides have to sell off their youngsters relatively cheaply before they even establish themselves in their own first team.
Anyway I wish him all the best and hope he breaks through sooner or later. Pehaps he might get a loan out somewhere?

Are Riise and Finnan retired?
Are their replacements better players?
We all know the answer to both questions.
Arbeloa, Dossena and Aurelio are poor compared to both of them.
They are physically and technically weak too.
A few goals from Aurelio is the only improvement.
Liverpool have improved, that is down to Alonso, Mascherano, Torres and Gerrard though.
Chris, you dont mention Insua who is probably better than Aurelio and Dossena. I dont think we needed to sign Dossena last year myself as I felt Insua and Aurelio was enough cover.
Think modern day full backs need to be more agile i.e. be able to defend and bomb up the wings when on the attack. Look no further than Danni Alves if you need an example.
Finnan like Arbeloa are not the type, and whilst Riise has a collection of cracking goals, his defending towards the end of his time at liverpool was poor.
Insua, will be a full time full back soon i think.
Johnson will play most games too.
In Riise's defence i think he knew he was going and became dis-heartened, thus losing some of his motivation. there were many games prior to the RB era were JAR was impressive defensively and offensively.
I don't think RB is respectful enough of players who he no longer favours. This was clearly evident with Bellamy( a good player but can be a tosser sometimes) also Robbie Keane.
I know its for the greater good, manners cost nothing though.
RB's style is his. he is the manager and the way he runs LFC is his choice.
We were close this season. Some draws from what should of been wins is what won us nothing.
Man U will have to sign some seroius goal getters, with CR and CT gone.
Rooney isn't a 25 goal a season player neither is Berbatov.
They will be reliant on their midfield maestro Carrick, some say he is a really influential player, personally i think he can't run, tackle, head a ball or long pass. There are those who will disagree.
Plus Scholes or Giggs won't play many next season either.
