Lets face it there's going to be plenty of bollox spouted in the press these next few months. May as well have a thread for all the speculation and confirmed transfers.
To start the thread I'd love this one to be true...

Yep Arshavin has been moaning for a few weeks about the tax and allegedly demanded a pay rise to cover the tax He'll be one of our shortest signings then!
perez already said he needs to play catch up to barca meaning 3 high profile signings instead of the one THIS SUMMER. Kaka being 1, Ronaldo 2 and Alsonso possibly the 3rd.

Last summer's quote from wiki: "Barry publicly criticised his manager, Martin O'Neill, accusing him of making no attempt to keep him at the club, and further stating a desire to join Liverpool in order to compete in the Champions League."
Gareth Barry is 28 now, so on the downhill slope, and will not play in Europe next season. If somehow Man City make the giant Premier League leap from 10th place up into the Champions Leage qualifiying positions next year (not very likely), he may just get a sniff at CL football in 2010 - 2011, by which time he will be 30 and past his best.
I'm glad he's finally moved on, but it does just stink of the lure of the salary rather than the chance to compete in the CL, which he was so vociferous about less than a year ago. A move to one of the Top 4 clubs would have been the sportsman's choice.
Still at least this signing will placate the City fans for losing out on Kaka!
