Question

Once the carbon on a spoiler becomes scratched during construction is there any way of polishing out the scratches or is it knackered?

Just looked at a Rallytech item which is covered in scratches where they have rubbed down the joint between the blade and composite areas.

Thanks

Nathan..

I don't think that the carbon can be polished out but hey, I'm no expert! I've 'layed up' carbon cloth in the past and carbon fibre is just that - fibre weave. If the weave is broken or scuffed prior to the application of the resin (Rutapox or similar?) then the carbon fibre is still scratched under the resin. Now if it is the resin that is scratched, then who knows? It's something I've never tried!
Hope this helps

Ken
