According to the new Max Power, Mintex do a blue brake disc.

Has anyone bought any and have some pics? Just wondering if they are blue all the way through or its just a coating on the top...

Doesn't it say that they are anodised(sp) normally means just a coating then.

Main advantage of those coatings is that it stops the disc going rusty on all the bits that don't come into contact with the pad. The bits that do come into contact get regularly cleaned anyway!

I've always thought Mintex were a pretty decent manufacturer and the discs would be pretty good.

although I can imagine that they would be a lot better once the coloured coating has worn through.

Sounds like a gimmick to me. They would look mint when new but i get the feeling the would look weird partly worn and faded. IMHO

I have these discs and yes the coating does eventually wear off. They have been on for about 6 months now along with Mintex Rally pads and they are quite good. Got mine from Macs Power here in Ireland. Mine are just groved not drilled.
