I've taken my bumper off a few times now and even when using new subaru fittings always seem to have mahoossive gaps...

I've tried cable tying the connectors and all sorts but can't seem to reduce the gap...any advice\tips from the pros?

I have the same or worse with mine.

The rubber bung/gasket fittings don't help IMO. And it's all too easy to slightly <cough> strain the returns under the front wing, meaning they'll sit even lower.

Only way to do it IMO is... (not that I've tried this yet LOL).
Check out the returns/mounts under the wing. Tweak/underseal if required.
Remove the rubber gasket type fitting things.
Pack up the bumper so it's fully supported along the front.
Run a rubber/spong door draft seal or similar along the top of the sides of the bumper.
Use plastic bolts and thin shims (plastic or rubber) to hold the rear edge of the bumper at the right height.


...Or you just bolt it all up solid. :)

They used to fit until I did my FMIC. Might be your answer :wonder:

its a real pain because the cars silver you notice all the shut lines so much more...J I have had an offer up by packing the bumper support but you still get the middle saggy bit :(

I'm gonna post this on NASOIC to and see what responce I get.

i screwed my bumper up tight to the bumper bar under the headlight to pull it up, i used simple self tappers

the headlight hides the screws :)

i only did one side, and have still not got around to doing the other side (but now you have just reminded me :D )

actually i have just remembered, i did one side after a light "knock" and the bar was a little bent on one corner, so it might not work on a straight bar, to be honest, i will just bend the other side inwards to match and do the same if its not possible :)
