Default Sti spoiler help

Right fellas got a low level spoiler on my bug at present and have aquired an sti spoiler is their a template available to help me drill holes through my tailgate or any tips/advice

Or look at whaere the bolts line up and take careful measurements from them?

Or lay it on a sheet of paper and make a template?

You can get plastic strips with a stud in the middle that you push into the holes in the spoiler, set it in place on the bootlid and tape the plastic stip to the boot lid lifting the spoiler off leaving them in place!, then drill down through the stud which is the center of the hole!
Someone is bound to know what you call them!! lol

make a template out of paper of such like from the spoiler ?
