I upgraded my 06 plate STi to the prodrive springs. Much better ride not so juddery/jiggly. Much more comfortable. Car not so tail happy afterwards but i also upgraded to the 18" alloys and Pirelli tyres.
I found the original ride of the STi too hardcore, with Prodrive springs much smoother and the wife can now drink a cup of coffee without spilling it (much).

Im not to keen on the ride of my spec D 2006 STI but I would have thought that the Prodrive springs would have made the car firmer due to the lowering of the ride height

Yes the prodrive settings were applied. The reason that the Prodrive spring is more comfortable even on a lower ride height is because it is a progressive spring. The STi spring is not. Therefore, with the prodrive springs the initial response is softer then hardens up as the suspension is compressed.
Subaru now offer the RB320 kit also which is a different spring kit and damper set. I havent tried an RB320 but i have heard this set up is very good.
Regarding my wife drinking coffee in the car , yes i do , but she has a towel on her lap :-)
Beastie that's very interesting progressive springs I never knew that,must be the old saying (you learn something new every day) How are your OE shocks are they noisy with the prodrive springs ? mine are not that clever with the standard ones on

The OEM shock absorbers are a bit clunky over rough roads, quiet on the motorway. It is well known that these shocks are not matched ideally to the prodrive springs. That is why the RB320 kit was developed with shock absorbers matched to the springs. However, when i put my springs on the RB320 kit was not produced. The RB320 alos sits a bit high at the back for my liking. AFAIK AST's are the best but yet to try.
However, for back road blasting i dont have any problem with my current set up.
My 06 Hawkeye WRX has Prodrive Springs.
The ride is a funny on motorway with some jiggling but not too bad.
Good ride at other times and takes speed humps very well.
I do not do motorway driving so does not bother me.
RB320 kit sound interesting I wonder what differences are from WRX set up with Prodrive Springs.
I upgraded my 05 wrx springs to prodrive ones in April and the handling is massively improved, all the slack is gone. As a result in gear response is noticably better in 1st too. Turns in properly, handles odd camber better and feels more stable on the motorway in my opinion.
Plus the springs have settled now and it doesn't look like it's on stilts any more.
Ride quality is as before, no issues with bumps etc. I'd say it's a no brainer unless you want something adjustable or more hardcore for track use...
Hadn't heard of the rb320 kit before, I'll have a look at that!
Just realised my rear shocks are pretty much solid.
Hence the jiggly ride.
Not sure if to upgrade or just replace the originals with Subaru ones with the Prodrive lowering springs as per current set up.
The car has always been a bit like this since I owned it so I do not know what a the ride is like with the O.E. shocks with the lowering springs all working properly.
I assumrethe jiggly ride should go.

Yes, along with stiffer ARB and solid drop links rather than the OEM ones which allow far too much movement and only add to the jiggle IMHO.
Done my rear bar and I have the front to go on with a set of KLC32 Whiteline Drops and it rides a million time better with far greater straight line stability. Should have done it ages ago but was given ****e advice by a would be specialist.
