Default Fitting coilovers...stuck on last one.... help.

Hi,

Just fitting my BC coilovers. The first three have gone really well, dead easy, now ive spent about 2 hours strugling with the thrid. The rear right.

When i took the oe off, even after full spring compression there was still alot of tension pusing down. I suspected the wishbone wasnt moving down very far, but strugged and got it out easy enough.

Now putting the coilover on, the dont line up at all.

1st attempt i had to drop the ride height 3cm to get the wholes to line up, and i have to pull the hub backwards to get them lined up.

coilover wants to be like this \ hub wants to be like this |

Really have to tug the hub backwards and up ALOT to get them aligned enough to mesh. But then the 3 lugs, the one nearest the back is further down. i.e. the coilover is to steep. Im reluctant to use the thead to pull it into position, which will also be tugging the hub into position which is alot of force.

Im not sure if removing the ARB could help. Perhaps my arbs is bent?

Anyone got any ideas? The other rear just went ont with no problems. same with the fronts....

Ive quit for the night, and tucking into a well earned ice cold bulmers..

any ideas welcome.

thanks in advance.

Chris

Yea this happened to me recently on the left rear. Was fitting my teins, I ended up bolting to the hub and after strecting the coilover to a longer setting ( higher ride height) I got the top 3 bolts to line up but getting a couple of bolts onto them.

Think it was a bit dodgey had to switch the car to a jack and lower it, while pushing the wishbone up with another. This allowed the gap to decrease and the bolts to poke throught the holes. Bolted them and tightened!

Not the best method

lol only took me half an hour this morning. I put the strut back to the same height as on the other side,

Then i got my breaker bat and wedged it between the middle member and arb bit and that twisted the hub. i.e. counteracted the arb, then it went on nice and easy ish.

My readings are all over the place tho.

Took the car for a spin and its awesome, but need to sort it out.

My problem is i have no really reliable way of measuring ride height, nor camber. my camber gauge has no decent place to mount it

Any advice?
