Well as some of you already know, I've sold my pug and bought another Scoob to replace the pug as my track toy.
The car was being advertised as a STI RA ,but upon arrival I had a feeling it was a STI 555 and my assumptions were correct. Anyway after being on the road for 8 hrs I still decided to go ahead and buy this.
All in all after 16hrs on the road, as soon as we got home I stuck it straight in the garage and its been there since ,slowly being worked on. This is only because I've spent most of my time hunting down parts that I ideally want.
So since last week, I've bought a STI RA v2 box which has just been rebuilt, aset of coil packs and I've only just bought a 3.9 rear diff to match the box.
Next lot to buy is :
Exhaust system - Must be track useable so below 101db ideally
FMIC
Suspension - Undecided what to have now as acouple of guys who do trackdays in there scoobs have given me some advice of different manufactures to use as the car will be part road & track
ECU - decisions decisions
Anyhow here are some pics of the car before I bought it, it had been stuck in the yard for a year which you can imagine the bodywork has had all kinds of s**t over it.
Since then, I've washed the car very carefully as I had to do it in the garage. Then I had to T-cut the whole car to remove any oxidiation and bird plops, then repolish the car to bring up the shine of the original sport blue
Si pop round anytime mate, I'll be working on it mostly over this coming week, except Tuesday back in work for 1 day plus I've got a shopping list to give you so you can start searching for some bits for me.

Well while its been dry morning, I decided to get round to removing the old gearbox from me car.
While the gearbox was off, I thought to check the Clutch and Flywheel condition. I always expected to fork out another few hundred quid for a decent clutch and flywheel as I was putting on a newly rebuilt gearbox.
Instead to my amazement, I found that my car has already a brand spanking new AP racing clutch and Flywheel which looks like it hasn't been used yet, thats just saved me afew hundred quid. Bargain !!!!!!
I'm slightly behind on the project but I eventually got the new gearbox on which wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. All thats left for the drivetrain then is to fit the new propshaft and diff.
Though before its fired up, there are afew more bits to be added on. I've been on a spending spree again this week and I've bought a 2nd hand set of Oz alloys for a bargain price of £100 with tyres and I've also just bought a 2nd hand FMIC which will also be fitted in afew weeks.
I'm just waiting on the Suspension and ECU, which wont be to far behind.
FFS I gotta take the gearbox back off, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
On testing the clutch fork it appeared to not work, so now I know why the previous owner had problems with the box, when they fitted the new clutch, the clutch release bearing was on the wrong way and I presumed it was correct when I removed the box.
Remind to oneself, read the manual next time before starting
Of course I didn't realise this until my old man looked at a online manual and found out about the bearing issue.
The only plus side to this, it appears I have a now a good 2nd gearbox which I thought was duff
Now I gotta spend another couple of hours to take the ruddy box back off.
The gearbox has been removed with a quick change of the bearing and chucked back on within an hour, I was quite surprised how fast we done it this time, all that moaning and it was simple.
Though for the other news, I picked up some other bits today which required doing afair bit of travelling, by that I mean to North Wales and back with a side stop at Stoke on trent, but I gotta be honest these were both a bargain and also I have another bargain on the way.
I picked up :
AutoBahn FMIC kit
Oz PWRC alloys with Tyres ( require refurb to white )
And also I've got a full setup of AST Coilovers onroute but I need to replace the NSF strut, if anyone knows of one for sale, please let me know guys.
