Excellent day, had great fun uptil I had the joys of being the one to stuff the car!!!. Mondays the D Day will it live, or go up to car heaven via lots of bits on ebay!!!!. Thanks to all the guys there who tried to get me going again, and I will be back with an SVX, one way or another!!. . See you soon.
SVXNUT, don't despair, wait til you see what happened towards the end of the day.
My first Blyton and definately won't be my last. What a fantastic day out!!! :
Got loooooooooads of video footage to try and upload as soon as I find a power supply for the camera docking station.
A huge thanks to Mr Crafts (Paul McCrafts ) and sticky for taking me out in their track beasts and credit due to Corradoboy for arranging the day. I thoroughly enjoyed the day and can't wait for the next.
Mark.. we did wonder where you'd gone... Real shame about the boost, but I think you made the right decision... keep your eyes peeled here for the next one in March(ish)....
SMACS Crew - Guys, you were all stars Your support was much appreciated and we're glad you enjoyed the day... SVX - Track use can be fraught with mishaps, but I hope it didn't spoil your fun too much... and as Rich says, you weren't the only one... you are definitely invited back next year and we'll ensure a set of reserved spaces for you on the next event...
I must agree that this was one of the best.. despite the few incidents.. but the second one was more funny than damaging (thankfully)... apart from a little pride!! (Sticky / Si - that was the word I was looking for earlier!!).. I'm sure a certain picture will make it on here soon...
Again.. many thanks to Dave for getting the organisation done and to all those who came along to make it such a special day.... and Blyton Blast 9 will be here in March(ish)..

So glad everyone had a good day. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and look forward to the next one. I wasn't sure if this would be the 8lyton bLAST as the current WYIOC didn't seem enthusiastic, but on the day it was as good as ever. I do hope next time more of the newer members as well as all the usual folk make it along, and many more SMACS please.
Sean & Jordan both did superbly. I especially enjoyed Sean hunting down his Dad (T20 against a diesel Skoda ) and Jordan making his Mum feel sick .
Sorry to see the SVX damaged and I hope there's a positive outcome. Remember though, next time a car understeers DON'T use handbrake to try and rescue it
Thanks to everyone for coming along, WYIOC, SMACS and a few BriSkoda as well as a few others. I might organise it, but it's everyone's attendance that makes the day. Thank you.
On a sad note, the day ended with a text from Simon (RRH) informing me of the shocking news about Colin McRae.
RIP Colin, his son, and the others involved in this tragic accident.
Sympathies to the families.
Kev, I'm awaiting a guy from BriSkoda posting. He's a semi-pro sports photographer and was snapping away most of the day. He was in the Skoda painted in red oxide with the "This car has not been abandoned" sticker He says he'll post lo-res for everyone, but is happy to do a full CD with whatever you want in hi-res for £20.
