Hammerite Smooth, available in loads of colours, goes on well with a brush, easily covers surface rust, cheap to buy, never heard of anyone having trouble with high temperatures.

Question

i have used hammerite in the past on calipers but found when i get the brakes hot it goes soft, some times drips onto my wheels now i have alloy calipers all round i dont want to have to do the job twice. their must be some kind of paint that can be used in high temperature other than having them powder coated

My upgraded 4 pots have been painted in Hammerite smooth for the last year no problem. Seems strange to me as I have cooked them so much that the laquer has blistered off the front wheels but the Hammerite is still ok. Used the spray type not the brush on so coats are thinner, and only sprayed the areas that can be seen which may have a bearing.

I use tetrosyl engine laquer it comes in a range of colours has no problems with heat and only cost about £7 for a tin and you will get at least 10 coats for all 4 calipers.
