Black Diamond Predator pads front and back for 06 STI (brembos)??

These seem to be about half the cost of most other branded makes.
£47 Front
£44 Rear


I'm not worried about brake dust (graphite wheels) and not worried about noise or wear (as I will get the performance friction stuff once I get that far down the to-do list)!

Had them fitted on my '05 Wrx with their grooved and drilled discs,knackered them inside of 8 laps at the 'Ring last year!
You're better of spending the extra and getting either Ferodo,Mintex or Pagid

That makes about 104 miles of track driving which considering it's not a track pad (they do sell those) I don't think it's that bad is it? (or about £1 per track mile as opposed to mintex which would need to do at least 2.5x better to match that - 260 track miles).

To put in into context that would be 94 laps around Brands Hatch on Black Diamond or to match that on Mintex it would need to do 236 Laps around Brands Hatch. (obviously assuming BH and Nurb have the same corner/straight ratio ... or close enough)

Anyway as I said not that bothered about life span only got to last me a short while till I upgrade so what's the stopping power like?.... did you notice a big difference from stock or is the wear your issue with them ? Obviously if I change disc I'll be changing pads so want to keep costs down for now.

Hi,
I'm not especially hard on brakes but stopping power was poor from high speeds,they faded quicker than I expected.
They were supposed to be a fast road pad,so I would have expected them to be more resistant to fade than they were.The stock pads the year before were more consistant and didn't fade as much.
If you're only interested in cost until you upgrade,why not replace them with stock Brembo pads,they're about the same price.
Try here,stock ones are cheaper.

I'm on stock Brembo pads/discs on my Forester STi(310bhp)and am more than happy with them at the moment,but that could change next week as I'm off to the 'Ring again(twice in 3weeks!!:norty: ).
To me they weren't an upgrade they were a step back! imho.

How soon do they need replacing?As there's some standard Mintex front and rears on Fleabay.
