Question Will 18" Alloys Fit A Classic?

Hi Guys,

I noted the other day that my two front tyres are a little worn. I think I'm gonna use this as an excuse to get a new set of alloys.

I was wondering whether to go up a size and get some 18", but I have no idea if they will fit and what the disadvantages are if any.

I've searched past threads and can't find much information.

What I want to know is, do 18" wheels fit? Do they rub? are any modifications need to fit them? What off set and tyre combination are need to prevent rubbing etc?

At the moment my car is running standard WRX Jap Import Strut and springs so it is factory height. I have no plans to lower it.

Any information will be gratefully received.

They will fit as long as they are the correct PCD ET etc, But going up to 18`s means a drop in tyre wall size, this can make it a harsh ride especially on British roads

I have 45 et on mine and the rear arches needed rolling, fronts are fine. Mine is quite low though.

I have 225/40/18 tyres on 18 inch 8j wheels my 93 WRX
I changed the suspension to coilovers at the same time, otherwise they wouldn't have fitted. I've not needed to have the arches rolled either.
